Kendall & Kate are off to the hospital, Kate woke up at 7:40 because her water broke. She was not having many contractions when she arrived at the hospital, We all started a pool to see who could guess all of the important things like time of birth, weight, length, hair color and if he wold look more like Mom or Dad. The best prediction was Makall's she guessed he wold be 9 lbs. and 12 inches long (you could tell she had no idea how long a full term baby should be). Jordan had the nicest prediction of what the delivery time would be, he guessed 4 pm. The Doctor came in around 10:30 he checked her and she was dilated to 1 cm & 50% effaced. At that time Kendall and I changed our guess of birth time and put it back by 6 or so hours. Kate then went for a walk, got back tot he room and rested for 2 hrs, at the end of that 2 hours she was tot he point she could not stand the pain any more. We were hoping she had changed a little the nurse said she could give her some fentanyl because she was sure it was to soon to get an epidural. We were all so surprised when she checked her and she was dilated to 8 cm. No wonder she was in pain, that was when Kate went from the top of the family whipm list to the top of the toughest girl list. They called for the Dr to come from the OR to do the epidural. He did not get there in time, shortly after that she had to push, and it was all over from there, the Dr barely made it there in time. She was an amazing girl, you would have thought she had gone to weeks of natural childbirth classes. She never screamed yelled or swore at her husband and told him she hated him.
Blake Kendall Christensen was born at 3:40 p.m. after only a few pushes, once his head was born without even another push our he came. The Dr almost dropped him he came so fast.
Because he had such a fast labor his head was round and perfect, no cone head for Blake. (I'm sure Kendall was a little sad because he wanted some black mail pictures for when he was older!)
He weighted 7 lbs- 15 ounces, was 21 inches long and had dark hair. We know he doesn't look much like Kate when she was born so I guess he looks like Kendall. We are trying to find some of his baby pictures.
I don't think I have seen a happier, prouder new Dad, Kendall never stopped smiling.
Blake is just like his Dad, every time you try to take his picture he sticks out his tongue!
What a happy grandma I am, nothing better than another grand baby to spoil!

Avery Helen Squire

Avery Helen Squire was born May 14th at 10:56 a.m. She weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces. Exactly what her mom weighed. Morgan went to the hospital at 8 a.m. Had her epidural around 10:30 and had a baby a few minutes later. Some people make hard things look so easy. We are so excited to have a new member of our family and such a cute one as well.
Makall feels pretty special because she is the first Aunt to get to hold Avery!
The new Squire Family photo
Brynlee is doing what all big sisters should do. She is teaching Avery the important things in life like playing games and watching movies on Gaga's phone.
Brynlee with her new baby Donut???
Papa Kim brought donuts to the hospital, Brynlee loved the donut with sprinkles so much she named her new doll "Baby Donut" we tried to help her pick a new name but she is a little stubborn and knows what she wants. I'm afraid it will be Baby Donut forever.
Happy new Grandma!

Spain 2011

Our 1st impression of Spain was interesting; a young man with a Mercedes, nice car, picked us up at the airport. We then checked into a very nice hotel on the beach with a beautiful view, took our bags to the room and came down to check out the hotel. We soon realized that we were in what seemed to be a retirement home on the beach. The nightly activities the hotel offered were a hit with the Sr. citizens. They all got their seats in the lounge 2 hours before each nightly performance. We had flamingo dancers that I think forgot to take lessons, a Hollywood night that they lip synced to Broadway tunes and it went down hill from there.

We then went outside to the snack bar, not quite what we had in mind, but oh well!
