More fun in Moroni

The morning after the pagent we had a great breakfast with pancakes, bacon, eggs and fresh fruit. After breakfast the kids of all ages had fun riding DJ & Austin's go cart and four wheelers. The kids all waited patiently to have a turn.
Once the kids were done playing we went for a hike up Box Canyon, it was beautiful. Unfortunately the Chatwin's had to leave early because Mom was on call that afternoon.
ON the way home we noticed the Tahoe was making a funny noise. We pulled of off the freeway in Payson . Hoping for good news like a nail in the tire or something like that we were extremely disappointed when the mechanic told us we had blown the engine. We had to have it towed to Layton. We got home very late, definitely not in time to cover the on call shift i was supposed to cover. Thank goodness Tammy was able to cover for me until I got home. $3500.00 and 3 weeks later the Tahoe was ready to roll, what a great deal!

Lunch with favorite Aunt Linda

Bryson & Ashlyn had a fun afternoon with Makall & Favorite Aunt Linda. 1st we went to lunch, it was Brysons turn to pick where we went, he picked Applebee's. The kids had corndogs and icecream sundae's. After lunch we went Galactic Golfing. The kids had more fun climbing on all of the crazy props than golfing but it was fun.

The Garden

We have spent many hours in the yard this spring, our garden isn't huge but big enough for us. We have planted beans, peas, tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, cucumbers, squash, basil and raspberries. Makall has been lucky enough to help, with only a little whining she planted the beans, you might have thought she was being tortured but she survived. We also have planted a new peach tree and an apple tree. We also re did the pond and made it a little bigger, now if we can get the water clear we will be set!

Parke Family Visit

Robert and his family came from New York for a surprise visit, Alexis was a little shy at first, it only took a little time for her to warm up. She played with Ashlyn and favorite Aunt Linda, we played doll house, when the van tipped over Aunt Linda helped her bandage all of the people's boo boo's as Alexis called them. The next day we planted some flowers for Grandma Parke.
Alexis is just like all of the nieces and nephews, if you bribe them with a treat of course they will call you favorite Aunt Linda. We had to go to Home Depot to get some potting soil for grandma. After that we went for ice cream, we had lots of fun.

A day at the Zoo

We had our annual trip to the zoo with Grandpa Parke, it was the perfect weather, it was a little crowded but it was a holiday. Grandpa has his new motorized wheel chair. Only Makall and Linda was abler to go from the Chatwin family, Katie & Jenna were both at work, Trace was cleaning out the garage. We are finally moved in after 14 years, he found a few boxes that had never been unpacked. Morgan and Jordan were in Park City with the Squires.
Landon is incognito heiding behind the leaves, all the kids had a ride on the merry-go-round.

Morgan's Birthday

Morgan's 23rd Birthday She is a very accomplished young lady. She is a college graduate, works at Mckay Dee hospital in their NICU, is married to a great man and best of all is expecting her 1st child. We are proud of all she has done with her life and wish her a Happy Birthday! We love you Morgan.
For her Birthday she asked for Disney movies, she also got some cookie cutters so she doesn't have to borrow from mom any more. She also got a wii game from her sisters and some new eye shadow.

Happy Birthday Morgan

Morgan's Birthday! Morgan has had a productive 23 years, she was a perfect baby, she almost never cried, it was hard to tell when she was sick because she didn't get grumpy. She was an awesome little girl, she loved wearing dresses and looking pretty. She then turned into a little hard working, goal setting, high achiever. She started ice skating at age 4 and was hooked. She skated until she was 10 and has a room of trophies and medals to show for it. She was a great student, always on the high honor roll and was in the National Honors society. She received a scholarship to Dixie College after a year down south she transferred to Weber State where she graduated with her bachelors degree. She was married to a wonderful guy in the Salt Lake Temple, they have bought a house in Layton and are now awaiting the birth of their 1st child. She is a hard working wonderful girl who is an example to everyone. We are so proud of all that she has done with her life.
Morgan's 23rd Birthday. Jordan took her to San Diego for her Birthday. They came home on her Birthday and we all went to dinner. Morgan picked her favorite place for dinner, The Olive Garden. After dinner we opened presents. Her sisters gave her a new game for the Wii, She wanted Disney movies so she got a few of them, she also got some new makeup.

Grandbaby #1 on the way

Best News Ever!!! Morgan has been sick for the last 13 weeks because she is pregnant!!! What exciting news, we are so excited for her and Jordan. She is a very smart girl, if you ask her what she wants a boy or a girl she has the best answer ever and that is all she wants is a 4 chamber heart, intact spinal cord or in other words a healthy baby. She has been very, very, very sick. She throws up every day multiple times, has lost over 10 pounds but thanks to zofran is feeling a little better. She is due November 10th. I am still trying to get used to the idea of being a grandma, it sounds so old. However I couldn't be more excited. Seeing her so sick brings back many memories of when I was expecting her. If I could be sick for her I surely would. Almost 14 weeks, how time flies when your having fun! The 1st photo of my first grandchild, how exciting. I'm sure it is the first of many photo's.

Makall Track 2009

Makall was on the Central Davis Jr. High School track team this year. She ran in the 4 by 4 relay.
Her sisters were a great support and made it to all of her track meets.
Say Cheese!
She also ran the hurdles, she had never done it before and had to practice a lot, the first few times she tried she fell, her knees were all scrapped up for weeks.
We were afraid she would fall during her first track meet, her and her dad went down to the high school many nights so she could get extra practice. Her hard work and extra practicing with her dad paid of, she didn't fall. She didn't get first place but she didn't get last either. She learned a great lesson of how to work hard to reach a goal. We are all proud of her! Way to go Makall.

Easter 2009

The annual Chatwin Easter Egg Hunt, the gang is ready to go. A few years ago we changed our Easter tradition of everyone getting a new Easter dress. Instead we take the money and get all kinds of gift certificates, gifts and cash. The only rule is you can not open any eggs until all eggs are found and you can only get 12 eggs.

Morgan & Jordan pooling resourses
Which one of these do I want?
Kate hunting in her dress?
Morgan counting her eggs
Makall reaching for the prize
Makall with her favorite prize a travel alarm clock?
Enough gift certificates to pay for many date nights in the future.
Jordan with his collection of Reeces carrots and his favorite, the mini memory album!
Of course Kate has the biggest smile because she found the 2 best gift certificates. I guess this makes up for missing the hunt a few years ago.
Jenna did find the most eggs that only had candy in them but she also got some cash and a few gift cards.
For dinner we had chicken salad on cresants, Makalls favorite kind with grapes in it. for desert we had chocolate covered strawberries, Kate made jello jiggler eggs and cocolate covered davinity eggs. A bit to much sugar but lots of fun.

Easter 2009

Morgan and Jordan found most of the eggs with the food gift certificates in them.
Annie was the first to find prizes, once the eggs were hidden she found all the ones with candy inside and ate the candy, who knows maybe she ate some money also.
We have an Easter tradition at the Chatwin house,we have a big Easter Egg Hunt, we take the money we used to spend on Easter clothes and buy gift certificates and prizes. Everyone can find 12 eggs, inside is either cash or a number that goes with a prize. Its a lot of fun, no one wants to miss it.
Kate made out the best this year, she found both of the big gift certificates to the mall. What a lucky girl. Jenna found most of the cash.
